This series is inspired by my love for movies and some of their colorized aesthetics. For this project, I wanted to create movie-like stills and explore how the use of color changes their feel, tone, and meaning. Like a film, these disparate scenes are tied to one another through their cyan tone to create a larger story. Spectrum of Cyan seeks to evoke a sense of nostalgia and mystery to demonstrate how color and mood affect the way a art is portrayed. This series conveys the power of cinematic storytelling, as each image tells a story waiting to be discovered and interpreted, emphasizing how all art doesn’t just rely on the artist but on those who interpret it.

This how explores the inner emotions of a person in an abstract way, drawing inspiration from the life and work of Harry Callahan. incorporate references to his work through diffused lighting, the use of the body as a frame, and close-up shots of the subject's face to dig deep into their thoughts. I collaborated with my younger brother as my subject to dive into his emotions and capture the calm and serene side of him while portraying an intimate connection between himself and the camera. Not only do I utilize reflections in my work through the mirror and water, but this series also displays and achieves my goal of portraying and reflecting the true and underlying emotions of my subject and his surroundings.
